My Tool Stack for 2026
1. The tools that remained after 12 years of practice
This is not a recommendation list of the latest apps, but a stack organized from tools that were repeatedly used and actually remained in the work.
- At the center of the choice is whether it reduces unnecessary friction and bureaucratic noise, rather than the number of features.
- It prioritizes tools that let designers and developers move faster and more clearly in the same context, rather than tools that only improve personal productivity.
- It is closer to finding a combination with low learning costs that can be maintained for a long time, rather than constantly switching to new tools.
2. The basic flow from ideas to product learning
Each tool’s role does not overlap, yet it connects naturally to the next task.
- Figma is the central hub for real-time interface design and UI systems, and FigJam organizes early ideas, strategy, user flows, and information architecture.
- PostHog is an AI assistant that understands screen context and quickly explores user behavior and product issues.
- Linear reduces options and complexity to help focus on execution, and Slack ties conversations, notifications, and issues into the same context.
- Notion serves as the center of collaborative documents that gather strategy documents, product specifications, research, and the team wiki.
3. How AI becomes an execution layer, not just a feature
AI is more effective when it continues work within the existing product stack rather than in a separate chat window.
- Claude is connected to Figma, Linear, and PostHog, and goes beyond simply finding information to coordinate complex workflows.
- Cursor keeps project context while handling code and file structures, increasing the speed of prototype and MVP creation.
- Agents integrated into Figma, PostHog, and Slack read screens and documents and connect them to the next action, reducing context switching.
- As design and development get closer, the experience of handling visual editing and code changes in one flow becomes important.
4. Supporting tools and selection criteria that reduce even small friction
Tools that reduce repetitive inconveniences outside core work also shape the overall work rhythm.
- YouTube Music consolidates subscriptions, Better Lyrics supplements real-time lyric translation, and Dia provides minimalist agent-based browsing.
- Magnet organizes macOS window placement with shortcuts, and Recordly records app flows and feature demos without heavy editing tools.
- The common traits of tools that remain for a long time are real-time collaboration, multi-platform support, an interface that does not interrupt work, and integrated AI agents.
- Along with the appeal of new features, it is worth looking at the team’s overall learning cost, developer experience, and long-term maintainability.
