Five Steps for Turning an AI Conversation Into a Useful Article

A conversation with AI is only raw material for an idea; it is not a finished article or report by itself. Drawing on the author’s experience as a UX designer, this article explains a five-step editing process for developing an AI conversation into an article that is useful to someone else.

• Discover
  • Purpose: Find the seed of a useful article within the conversation.
  • Method: Identify the questions you asked repeatedly and the single judgment or decision you reached at the end. Repetition indicates an unresolved problem, while the final judgment becomes the core value delivered to the reader.

• Verify
  • Purpose: Establish differentiation and originality.
  • Method: Check whether similar articles already exist and identify the gap that can be filled by your own experience or perspective.

• Define
  • Purpose: Reframe and structure the problem around the reader.
  • Method: Instead of presenting the conversation in chronological order, rearrange it into an order that is easier for the reader to understand. Define the central problem the reader wants to solve rather than simply repeating the conversation’s topics.

• Replace
  • Purpose: Anonymize the material and convert it into a safe example.
  • Method: Do not merely obscure sensitive information about real projects or clients. Completely replace it with a public example or standardized problem structure that preserves the same underlying issue.

• Evaluate
  • Purpose: Conduct a final review and judge completeness.
  • Method: Review the article from multiple angles using the following four criteria.
  • Usefulness: Can readers immediately try something after reading it?
  • Originality: Does it include the reasoning process and the reasons behind the judgment?
  • Completeness: Does the article independently cover the problem, background, method, and conclusion?
  • Safety: Does it avoid sensitive information and unverified claims?

Turning an AI conversation into something useful to others means transforming “a record of my own process of understanding” into “a form that other people can safely reuse.”
